Who I Am
Hi, I’m Michelle. I can’t wait to hear what you’re dreaming up for your space.
Maybe you have a very clear vision, or maybe you just know that your home isn’t quite working for you yet. Either way, I’m here to listen, ask the right questions, and guide you through a thoughtful design process that turns your ideas into a space that feels like you.
My love of design started at home. My mom designed the custom home I grew up in, with a mix of midcentury style, ’70s boho influence, and clever, practical solutions for making the most of every inch. I think all of this is where I first learned that the things we surround ourselves with can tell a story—and that a beautiful home should also work beautifully.
As a young adult, I spent several years living abroad and embracing life as a bit of a global nomad. Living in different places gave me a firsthand appreciation for the ways homes and furniture are designed around space, function, and everyday life. It also showed me that you never have to choose between practicality and beauty—you can absolutely have both.
These days, I’m a wife and mom of three busy kids here in northern Colorado, so I also understand firsthand what it means to design a home for real life. Kids, pets, muddy shoes, sports gear, endless snacks, and all the chaos that comes with them have a way of putting a space to the test! I know that a home can be both beautiful and livable, and that thoughtful design can make everyday life a whole lot easier.
I can’t wait to hear what dreams you have for your space. Whether those dreams are specific or vague, I will listen deeply and guide you through a process towards making that dream a reality.
What I do
At Hairpin Homes, I believe your home should be a reflection of the people who live there—not a snapshot of whatever happens to be trending. I specialize in midcentury, modern, and boho-inspired interiors in northern Colorado, creating spaces that feel collected, personal, and designed for real life.
Whether you’re remodeling for a growing family, planning to age in place, or simply want a home that will still feel fresh and relevant ten years from now, I believe good design shouldn’t look like a moment—it should look like you.
My goal is to create spaces that are equal parts function, form, and fun—spaces that work beautifully for the life you’re living now, while giving you room to grow into what comes next.
From big-picture space planning to the details that make a room feel uniquely yours, I offer interior design services, space planning and layouts, 2D drawings, 3D renderings, and project-specific digital portals that keep clients and GCs connected throughout the process.
I intentionally keep my project load small, typically taking on just one or two projects at a time. That means you get my full attention, thoughtful collaboration, and a design process that feels personal from start to finish.
